Our Employment and Labour Relations practice is well-established. We advise and represent clients in all aspects of Employment law. 

We regularly advise on:

  • Representations before the Employment and Labour Relations Court as well as other statutory bodies such as Ministry of Labour and Retirement Benefits Appeals Tribunal Authority, Retirement Benefits Appeals Tribunal
  •  All aspects of the employment relationship including drafting of the manuals, policies contract of employment; termination of employment etc
  • Redundancy
  • Collective Bargaining Agreements

Our recent representations include:

  • Acting for the National Carrier  before the Industrial Court, (as it was then known), Court of Appeal and Supreme Court in a challenge by a Union against redundancy of over 600 employees
  • Acting for a leading private University Hospital before the Employment and Labour Relations Court in a challenge against proposed potential redundancies of up to 500 staff
  • Representing a leading commercial bank in a case involving alleged wrongful dismissal and malicious prosecution (claim value: KES 6 million, excluding the interest)
